This weekend, Science Fiction Theatre Company’s literary manager, Kelley Holley, will be attending Stage the Future, the world’s first science fiction theatre conference, hosted at the Royal Holloway, University of London. There, she will present her paper “Familiar Aliens: Science Fiction Theatre as a Future Memory Machine.” The conference was organized by Susan Gray, the artistic director of London based science fiction theatre company Stars or Mars, and Christos Callow Jr. Both are PhD candidates: Gray is currently studying at the Royal Holloway and Callow is at Birkbeck College, University of London. The conference is a large step towards furthering science fiction theatre in academia, and the conference will include both research and performative elements. We are very excited to attend and can’t wait to Stage the Future!
